This is our story- a family of five, if you include the dog. The family consists of four "men" and a mom, who has pretty much transformed from a girly-girl to a football/Star Wars fanatic who shoves food into her mouth in order to keep up with the men! Our house is never quiet and rarely stays clean for long. We play hard and love each other very much!

This is for you Kellie!
After reading the most recent post on "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beerholder," I felt compelled to follow directions- find the 6th pic folder and find the 6th pic- and here it is! I can't say that the photo scares me. I look kinda scary but oh well. I love the moment it captures. This is Hunter and I decorating Christmas cookies in December. We really enjoyed ourselves. Hunter was more into eating than decorating but he did a nice job of dumping sprinkles onto his plate and then dipping the cookie into frosting and then the sprinkles on the plate. I like that I'm wearing in this picture the Christmas gift I received from my husband- a 43 Palamalo jersey! Love it!

Spring Forward
You might not believe me but 18 month old children can actually growl. I couldn't believe the sounds Mason was making after we had to wake him this morning, one hour earlier than usual because of the spring forward time change! Both boys were beside themselves at the breakfast table. Hunter demanded that Mitch turn the lights out because they were hurting his eyes. He wanted the radio OFF! Mason cried in his high chair, and by cried, I literally mean growled. He was making the strangest little noises! :) Tonight Mason was in bed a little after six and Hunter around 7:30 p.m. I could tell Hunter was tired because his behavior was out of control- very aggressive and, dare I say it, a bit obnoxious :) ! I love my kids; I'm not a fan of this extra hour of sunlight yet. I'm just not sure it's worth all the commotion! :)

Two Boys With Ear Infections...Not for the faint of heart
If you read my last post, consider this an extension post where I confirm that Mason did in fact get sick. Both boys are currently being treated for ear infections- Hunter a double ear infection and Mason, one ear. I seem to really know how to predict these kinds of things! I should use my power to my advantage: I predict that my boys will, from tomorrow on, remain healthy for the rest of the school year! Let's see how that prediction goes!
I'm reading tonight- a Friday night- and Mitch is enjoying some beers with Wade across the street. Mitch was so excited at the prospect of some male bonding, he practically skipped! I'm so excited to enjoy some quiet and some reading for fun (rather than reading for work). I'm nearly finished with A Thousand Splendid Suns- it's really good!
I'm hoping that the weather is nice tomorrow so we can spend some time outside!

Untitled
So, yesterday I was thinking, hey, my children have been healthy for quite some time now. Ha ha ha. Daycare called today reporting Hunter's 101.3 fever. He will be home tomorrow. I plan to spend the day snuggling him up! I was always told to never share your good fortune out loud. I guess you're not even supposed to think it, as I now have one sick child and I'm sure another in the making.
On a more positive note, because we have absolutely no food in the house, we did decide to chance an outing this evening for our weekly, and quite official, family night. We ate dinner at Famous Dave's, which was a huge hit for both Hunter and Mason. Hunter was especially excited by the huge sink just standing there out in the open. He got his hands dirty JUST SO he could saunter on over to the public sink and wash his hands! Mason loved the huge wooden bear that greeted us at the entrance! He thought it was so funny!

Spa Day Sunday
In about three hours I will be heading to Life Time Fitness in Saint Louis Park for over three hours of pampering- haircut, facial (1 1/2 hours), and massage (1 hour). I think I will be "drunk" from all that me time!
