I can honestly say that no matter what, I am always genuinely happy to see my two little boys every single morning, no matter what time they get up. Yes, the rolling out of bed at 5 a.m. is tough, but once I get to the room and pick up the little (not so little) bundle and carry him from his crib, I'm never sorry. This morning after Mason had finished eating, he treated to me to his toothy grin and said "ba ba ba" in a way that I know translated to "that really hit the spot!" Hunter came up the stairs shortly after with his "I'm so wonderfully naughty" grin and gave me a hug and then demanded (yes, demanded) that he be allowed to watch "Yo Gabba Gabba." For some reason, that's his new favorite show.
Quick Update/Report: Hunter earned a new belt at karate this evening. Auntie Melinda and Auntie Doreen traveled to Edina to watch him. Mason is struggling with the transition to full-time daycare again. He is refusing to eat and nap at daycare. I remember this was also the case when Hunter was a baby.
This is our story- a family of five, if you include the dog. The family consists of four "men" and a mom, who has pretty much transformed from a girly-girl to a football/Star Wars fanatic who shoves food into her mouth in order to keep up with the men! Our house is never quiet and rarely stays clean for long. We play hard and love each other very much!

Back to Work, Back to Reality
While I could bore you with the mundane details of the 2008-2009 school year, I will simply fast forward to 4:00 p.m. when I picked my little boys up at their daycare/preschool. Hunter was happy to see me and was quick to not only hug me but to also inform all around him that he was heading home to "rock out." He ran ahead of me to the classroom that housed his belongings and surprised me when he put his backpack on his back, not mine. I followed Hunter to Mason's room, who was sooooooooo happy to see us! He smiled and bounced and was very upset every time I put him down to get his things together. He did not eat well today but was able to eat a graham cracker. Because he's been struggling with table food, I raced to Target and purchased a box. I gave him three! Anyway! Mason's daycare note also stated that "Mason Loves Bubbles." We're going to have to give that a try. This evening was a whirlwind and I struggled to keep pace with my new life. We did manage a walk/bike to the park before bath/bottle/snack/stories/bed. After I put them to bed, I started my school work. Summer is Officially Over!

Quick Thought
Hunter, as he was informing us for the eightieth time that day that he was going to "Chuck E Cheeses," told us, his parents, "Don't say no; just say yes."

One a Flirt; the Other, Still Mommy's Biggest Fan
Mitch and I attended the wedding reception of a couple who is good friends with our neighbors across the street this afternoon and took Hunter and Mason along for the ride. What I learned is that my son, Hunter, four-years-old, is a shameless flirt. He set his sights on three of the ladies (that we know of) at the reception, all over the age of twenty-seven. He played with their hair, brought them bugle chips, hugged them, waved at them, etc. When we asked later who his girlfriend is, Hunter's reply was "Kelly," our neighbor across the street. Now, watching my son work the ladies during the reception was strange though Hunter did bring me one or two bugle chips just to make sure I was somewhat still a part of his life. At least Mason still thinks I'm awesome! He was only happy when I held him and treated to me to his wonderful toothy grin a number of times. He thinks I'm quite witty and hilarious! He has a few years before he starts setting his sights on a world outside of our home!
